NHPC, JKSPDCL ink implementation pact for hydroelectric projects in Jammu & Kashmir

The projects will be developed by NHPC on BOOT basis for a period of 40 years

NHPC and Jammu & Kashmir State Power Development Corporation (JKSPDCL) have signed implementation agreement for development of the 240 MW Uri-I Stage-II and 260 MW Dulhasti Stage-II Hydroelectric Projects in UT of Jammu & Kashmir on March 27, 2026. The projects will be developed by NHPC on BOOT (Build-Own-Operate-Transfer) basis for a period of 40 years.

Earlier, the broad of directors of the company in its meeting held on February 20, 2026, had inter-alia considered and approved the same.

NHPC is engaged in electric power generation by hydroelectric power plants. The company is also engaged in contracts, project management and consultancy work.
