Physical rubber prices extended gains on Thursday due to robust demand from the automotive and tyre sectors, while continued domestic supply shortages also supported sentiments. Moreover, elevated oil prices have raised the cost of synthetic alternatives, reinforcing the upward movement in natural rubber prices.
Spot prices for the RSS-4 variety gained to Rs 238/kg to its previous closing of Rs 236/kg; while the RSS-5 variety rose to Rs 234/kg to its previous closing of Rs 232/kg.
