NMDC reports 16% rise in iron ore production in April

The sales volumes increased 1.38% to 3.68 MT in April 2026

NMDC has registered a 16% rise in its iron ore production to 4.64 million tonnes (MT) in April 2026. The company had produced 4.00 MT iron ore in April last year. The sales volumes increased 1.38% to 3.68 MT in April 2026 from 3.63 MT in the same month a year ago. 

The company’s Chhattisgarh mines produced 3.66 MT of iron ore and registered sales volume of 3.16 MT in April 2026, while Karnataka mines produced 0.98 MT of iron ore and sold 0.52 MT of iron ore in April 2026.

NMDC is a state-controlled mineral producer of the Government of India. It is fully owned by the Government of India and is under administrative control of the Ministry of Steel.
