Asian equities are set for a strong start and currencies are likely to gain after Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell ’s speech at the Jackson Hole symposium the Fed is headed for an interest-rate cut as soon as its next policy meeting in September.

US stocks on Friday, pushing the Dow Jones Industrial Average to its first closing record this year, and emerging-markets currencies broke a six-day losing streak as his remarks sent the dollar slumping.
