ONGC, Hindustan Zinc and Tata Steel to see some action today

ONGC Energy Centre Trust (OECT), the research and development arm of Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC), has entered into a formal agreement with Engineers India (EIL) for the implementation of a Helium Recovery Demonstration Plant at ONGC’s Kuthalam Gas Collection Station in Cauvery Asset, Tamil Nadu. The agreement encompasses the preparation of the Detailed Project Report (DPR), Basic Engineering Design Package (BEDP), and execution of the project through an EPCM and Supply model covering design, engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and performance testing. 

Hindustan Zinc’s Board has approved the establishment of India’s first zinc tailings reprocessing plant at Rampura Agucha, Bhilwara district, Rajasthan. Tailings are the finely ground remnants left after mineral extraction. While these are considered as waste, they have plenty of residual metals and minerals which are difficult to extract. This state-of-the-art facility will extract metals like zinc and silver from previously processed tailings transforming what was once considered waste, into valuable resources. 

Tata Steel’s wholly owned subsidiary--Tata Steel Advanced Materials (TSAML) has received approval for the divestment of the entire equity (90%) and preference (100%) stake held by TSAML in Ceramat (CPL), to Lionstead Applied Materials (Lionstead), a wholly owned subsidiary of Lionstead Ventures LLP and consequently a Share Purchase Agreement (SPA) has been executed between TSAML, CPL, Lionstead and other shareholders of CPL. With this divestment, TSAML ceases to hold any securities in CPL and consequently CPL ceases to be a subsidiary of the Company. The Board of Directors of TSAML, at its meeting held on August 18, 2025, has approved the same.

CWD has secured purchase order worth Rs 76 crore for the supply of UPI sound boxes. The order is to be executed within FY25-26. This order reinforces the company's position in India's rapidly expanding digital payment infrastructure market.
