Bond yields trade higher on Friday

The yields on new 10 year Government Stock were trading 2 basis points higher at 6.14% from its previous close of 6.12% on Thursday

Bond yields traded higher on Friday as Prime Minister Narendra Modi and US President Donald Trump reviewed the ongoing trade negotiations between India and the United States.

In the global market, yields on U.S. Treasurys were relatively unchanged on Thursday as investors continued to wait for a breakthrough on the ongoing government shutdown. Furthermore, oil prices settled lower on Thursday after Israel and the Palestinian militant group Hamas signed an agreement to cease fire in Gaza.

Back home, the yields on new 10 year Government Stock were trading 2 basis points higher at 6.14% from its previous close of 6.12% on Thursday.  

The benchmark five-year interest rates were trading 1 basis point lower at 6.51% from its previous close of 6.52% on Thursday.
