Bond yields trade higher on Monday

The yields on new 10 year Government Stock were trading 03 basis points higher at 6.76% from its previous close of 6.73% on Friday

Bond yields traded higher on Monday as foreign portfolio investors (FPIs) turned net buyers in the first week of February, infusing more than Rs 8,100 crore in Indian equities, aided by improving risk sentiment, along with a trade deal with the US.

In the global market, U.S. Treasury yields were relatively unchanged on Friday as investors continued to assess the state of the American economy. Furthermore, oil prices held steady on Friday after Iran and U.S. representatives held talks on the Islamic Republic’s nuclear program.

Back home, the yields on new 10 year Government Stock were trading 03 basis points higher at 6.76% from its previous close of 6.73% on Friday.  

The benchmark five-year interest rates were trading 04 basis points higher at 6.56% from its previous close of 6.52% on Friday.
