Solar stocks tumble after US imposes 126% import duty on certain Indian solar goods

Solar stocks traded lower on the BSE after the US has announced preliminary countervailing duty of 125.87 per cent on imports of certain Indian solar goods alleging that the products are unfairly subsidised by New Delhi. The US has also announced different duties on the imports of 'Crystalline Silicon Photovoltaic Cells, Whether or Not Assembled into Modules' from Indonesia and Laos.

Waaree Energies is currently trading at Rs. 2710.90, down by 314.30 points or 10.39% from its previous closing of Rs. 3025.20 on the BSE. The scrip opened at Rs. 2815.10 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 2820.55 and Rs. 2571.45 respectively. So far 724673 shares were traded on the counter.

Premier Energies is currently trading at Rs. 733.90, down by 43.90 points or 5.64 % from its previous closing of Rs. 777.80 on the BSE. The scrip opened at Rs. 700.05 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 744.00 and Rs. 667.05 respectively. So far 768179 shares were traded on the counter.

Vikram Solar is currently trading at Rs. 175.90, down by 9.45 points or 5.10% from its previous closing of Rs. 185.35 on the BSE. The scrip opened at Rs. 179.35 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 179.35 and Rs. 171.50 respectively. So far 371592 shares were traded on the counter.
