Coal India soars on bagging LoA worth Rs 1057.09 crore

The company has received a Letter of Award from Telangana Power Generation Corporation

Coal India is currently trading at Rs. 458.90, up by 13.75 points or 3.09% from its previous closing of Rs. 445.15 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 445.25 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 459.20 and Rs. 443.05 respectively. So far 351323 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 10 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 475.95 on 13-Mar-2026 and a 52 week low of Rs. 350.15 on 07-Apr-2025.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 467.40 and Rs. 439.00 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 282037.26 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 63.13%, while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 30.89% and 5.98% respectively.

Coal India has received a Letter of Award (LoA) from Telangana Power Generation Corporation for setting up of 750 MWh (187.5 MW for 4 hours) BESS Plant at Choutuppal. The estimated project cost is Rs 1057.09 crore. The said order is to be executed within 18 months from signing of BESPA.

Coal India is the world’s largest coal mining company. It also produces non-coking coal and coking coal of various grades for diverse applications.
