Nifty ends near day’s high level on Tuesday

Nifty July 2025 futures closed at 25,625.00 on Tuesday, at a premium of 102.50 points over spot closing of 25,522.50

In a volatile trade, Indian equity benchmark -- Nifty -- ended the Tuesday’s session near day’s high level amid Foreign Institutional Investors (FIIs) inflows. According to exchange data, FIIs bought equities worth Rs 321.16 crore on Monday. Market made a cautious start and soon turned volatile amid renewed uncertainty over U.S. President Donald Trump's tariff policies after he again extended the implementation of new reciprocal tariffs until at least August 1. Traders took note of report that Prime Minister Narendra Modi met Bolivian President Luis Alberto Arce Catacora and discussed ways to bolster cooperation in areas such as critical minerals, trade and investment, healthcare and space, among others. In afternoon session, index continued its volatile trade near neutral line as traders avoided to take risk. However, in last leg of trade, market gained traction and ended above 25,500 mark. 

Most of the sectorial indices ended in red except IT, Private Bank and Realty stocks. The top gainers from the F&O segment were NHPC, Kotak Mahindra Bank and IIFL Finance. On the other hand, the top losers were Angle One, BSE and Titan Company In the index option segment, maximum OI continues to be seen in the 25900 - 26100 calls and 24900 - 25100 puts indicating this is the trading range expectation.

India Volatility Index (VIX), a gauge for market’s short-term expectation of volatility decreased by 2.91% and reached 12.20. The 50 share Nifty up by 61.20 point or 0.24% to settle at 25,522.50.

Nifty July 2025 futures closed at 25,625.00 on Tuesday, at a premium of 102.50 points over spot closing of 25,522.50, while Nifty August 2025 futures ended at 25,731.60, at a premium of 209.10 points over spot closing.  Nifty July futures saw an addition of 1,749 units, taking the total open interest (Contracts) to 1,78,773 units. The near month derivatives contract will expire on July 31, 2025. 

From the most active contracts, BSE July 2025 futures traded at a premium of 12.70 points at 2502.70 (LTP) compared with spot closing of 2490.00. The numbers of contracts traded were 43,978. 

Titan Company July 2025 futures traded at a premium of 16.70 points at 3456.70 (LTP) compared with spot closing of 3440.00. The numbers of contracts traded were 35,170. 

Kotak Mahindra Bank July 2025 futures traded at a premium of 8.00 points at 2231.90 (LTP) compared with spot closing of 2223.90. The numbers of contracts traded were 25,587. 

Trent July 2025 futures traded at a premium of 29.00 points at 5469.00 (LTP) compared with spot closing of 5440.00. The numbers of contracts traded were 18,711. 

TCS July 2025 futures traded at a premium of 5.90 points at 3411.90 (LTP) compared with spot closing of 3406.00. The numbers of contracts traded were 18,055.

Among, Nifty calls, 26000 SP from the July month expiry was the most active call with an additional of 5,302 units open interests. Among Nifty puts, 25500 SP from the July month expiry was the most active put with an addition of 205 units open interests. The maximum OI outstanding for Calls was at 26000 SP (70,413 units) and that for Puts was at 25000 SP (90,273 units). The respective Support and Resistance levels of Nifty are: Resistance 25,572.32 -- Pivot Point 25,498.23 --Support -- 25,448.42. 

The Nifty Put Call Ratio (PCR) finally stood at (1.18) for July month contract. The top five scrips with highest PCR on Blue Star (1.24), One 97 Communications (1.09), Havells India (1.05), Mphasis (1.04) and Colgate-Palmolive (India) (1.00).

Among most active underlying BSE witnessed an addition of 6,592 units of Open Interest in the July month future, Kotak Mahindra Bank witnessed an additional of 4,023 units of Open Interest in the July month future, Titan Company witnessed an additional of 8,492 units of Open Interest in the July month futures, Multi Commodity Exchange of India witnessed an additional of 1,114 units of Open Interest in the July month futures and HDFC Bank witnessed an additional of 2,302 units of Open Interest in the July month futures.
