Gujarat Gas has collaborated with Waree Energy through signing of Gas Sales Agreement for PNG supply of 50,000 scmd for its Lithium-ion cells manufacturing unit at Valsad, Gujarat. This partnership will pave the way for sustainable energy solutions and reduce the carbon footprint paving way for sustainable energy thereby improving quality of present and future human life. This plant is under construction and is expected to be commissioned in Q4 of current FY 25-26.

At present, India is heavily dependent upon imports for Lithium-ion batteries. But as per report of CareEdge, India’s import dependence of lithium-ion battery will drop to 20% by FY 2026-27. Lithium-Ion batteries are commonly used in Electric vehicles, portable electronics and Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS). BESS is a sunrise sectors helping to stabilize the grid and integrate renewable energy sources. This partnership of Gujarat Gas and Waree Group shall contribute significantly to sustainability and empowers a greener future.

Gujarat Gas is engaged in City Gas Distribution including sale, purchase supply, distribution, transport, trading in Natural Gas, CNG, LNG, LPG & other Gaseous form through Pipelines, Trucks/ Trains or such other suitable mode for transportation/distribution of Natural Gas, CNG, LNG, LPG & other Gaseous Form.
