VA Tech Wabag rises on bagging order to develop Sundarijal Water Treatment Plant in Nepal

The company has secured repeat order from Melamchi Water Supply Development Board

VA Tech Wabag is currently trading at Rs. 1413.85, up by 11.70 points or 0.83% from its previous closing of Rs. 1402.15 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 1428.45 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 1449.35 and Rs. 1411.90 respectively. So far 10458 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 2 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 1943.95 on 09-Dec-2024 and a 52 week low of Rs. 1109.35 on 28-Jan-2025.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 1449.35 and Rs. 1390.05 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 8858.24 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 19.10%, while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 22.87% and 58.03% respectively.

VA Tech Wabag (WABAG) has secured a ‘Large’ repeat order from Melamchi Water Supply Development Board (MWSDB), Nepal. The order is for design, build and operate (DBO) of a state-of-the-art Sundarijal Water Treatment Plant (WTP) with a capacity of 255 million liter per day (MLD) in Kathmandu Valley, funded by the Asian Development Bank (ADB). A large order is valued in the range of $30 million to $75 million. The engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) scope will be executed over 36 months, followed by 5 years of operation and maintenance (O&M).

The new plant to be constructed adjacent to the existing Melamchi WTP, which was built by WABAG in 2017, will treat water from the Melamchi, Yangri, and Larke Rivers, meeting Nepal’s National Drinking Water Quality Standards and strengthening water security for Kathmandu’s growing population.
