US markets end lower on Friday

Markets witnessed a sell- off amid ongoing volatility in crude oil prices

The US markets ended lower on Friday as the U.S.-Israeli war with Iran entered its fourth week, amid growing concerns over rising inflation and the possibility of increase in interest rates. Markets witnessed a sell- off amid ongoing volatility in crude oil prices. As per the private report, Iran and Israel have exchanged strikes overnight, with Iran launching new attacks against energy sites in Kuwait and elsewhere in the Persian Gulf. Further, rise in Treasury yields also weighted down on market sentiments. Traders avoided to take risk ahead of the upcoming S&P Global Composite PMI Flash data, due on March 24, for further market direction.

Dow Jones Industrial Average slipped 443.96 points or 0.96 percent to 45,577.47, Nasdaq decreased 443.08 points or 2.01 percent to 21,647.61 and S&P 500 fell 100.01 points or 1.51 percent to 6,506.48.
