Copper futures trade flat on Monday

Copper futures were trading almost flat on Monday amid steady demand against mounting concerns over supply tightness in the global markets. Meanwhile, persistent weakness in the American currency and increased speculation over interest rate cuts by the US central bank have also kept copper prices unchanged.

Copper futures for September delivery gained $0.0005 or 0.01% at $5.1235 a pound on the Comex metals division of New York Mercantile Exchange.
